When I reflected on my work,I realised that my area of choice is terrible. I only brought white fabric, it makes me feel its difficult to make my idea interesting. We have to try around the white fabric /blue plastic bag/fabric with pattern.

In the group work, we tried to make the body look like growing with tumours/deformity/the impossible body shape.

How its succeed: we have made three of the idea, we choose the one with all white. I think the most successful part is using projection on the fabric,then I think its right that I only brought the white fabric,we projection the picture that we took from the fabric and keep changing it, make the white fabric and the white background into the same pattern, while because of the shadow(from the people)you still can see the difference between them(that is what we didn’t expect)

How it failed: actually most of the things are succeed today(we keep trying/testing many different ideas), while the one of the fabric with pattern doesn't really work. The idea is interesting and different from others, while the image makes it feel so cheap.

How can I do after it: Reflecting on my work, I began to understand that my area of choice is a new challenge for me,”how can I make a single colour of fabric interesting?”Can I just playing with one colour?”

I realise that it will be astonished if I succeed

To develop my work, I had done the research about”tumours/deformity/the impossible body shape” designer” Rei Kawakubo”.

I still want to use the signal colour so that it can be focused on the shape of the clothes.

I found it “trying to do the things simple” is challenging, thought-provoking without too much
decoration while it still makes the image attractive and conveys the concept to the audience successfully.

Doing the research from Rei Kawakubo I found out the concept of my work is similar to hers.

She used an only single colour to design the clothes, but using the dramatic shape to let it attractive; after the research, I make sure I want to do this concept and develop the work from 24 hours projects.

Design for the makeup, just want to make my concept stronger.

To fit my concept, I design the makeup which is creepy and sadness, I still want to let my audience focus on the styling so I only use one colour on the face but with the strong dark red.

I decide to remove her eyebrows, make her face look pale and change her face shape, I have done some little test while I’m not sure its work or not its just look too creepy, I don't want my work to become cosplay or Halloween costume.

Styling for the model today.

MAKEUP: I used glue and the foundation to try to let her eyebrows disappear (I don’t want to shave her eyebrows), while it doesn't work. The glue doesn't stick enough so I have to kip spread the glue on the eyebrows after it dries so that I can cover it by foundation properly.

The red part is better then I thought, we have the different face shape so I’m very nervous it will be awful if I do the same makeup on her face, but its work, better then I expect.

The only thing is the model is sweating so the makeup cant is on her face properly, so I have to keep putting prep+prime on her face.

STYLING: I brought fabric/pillow/big fluffy coat for the styling. I’m glad that I have got 2 hours early before the shooting, the styling is difficult to be same with the idea from the sketchbook.

The pillow is too heavy so that I have to use the rape to tie it on the body, while I don’t want to let people see the rape that on the body, so I used the white fabric to cover the body and pillow(in this case, I don’t know I’m doing styling now or just making clothes)

To make the fabric not just like”putting a bed sheet on the body”, I tried to stuff the fabric between the pillow and the body make it have the wrinkle, and its work. I asked the model to wear the coat first so that her body can be giant and big, and I tied up the fabric on her legs so that can let her body look like an upside down gourd.

PHOTOGRAPHY: the styling  make the model cant really move, so she only have very limited space to posed(actually is just stood straight and crouch)

To play with the colour, I have covered her with a shiny red fabric make her so solemn just like a traditional Chinese bride(but not really happy to get married)

I thought It will be too boring just standing straight, while after seeing the picture that I took I feel that it be more sadness when the model standing straight.

I’m very proud for myself that I made it, although it might not be that interesting enough it’s still a great work.

Why it's not interesting?

I think

1.only 2 colours:red and white

2.model didn't do the interesting post

3.I didn't change the angel when I was shotting

4.too much layout (I should just pick one pic for layout)

The feedback is suggested me to change the background colour so that the model can stand out from the background.

In term of lighting, I start to experiment with how I could make more shadow to let the wrinkle be more stereoscopic. Make the lighting stronger or lower? or I can change the colour of the image to make it feel more creepy.
